Fear No Evil

Fear No Evil: Emblem of the Self

Childhood gives one goblins, witches, boogey men;
Con-science sophis-ticates roars within the lion’s den;
Religion gives one truth charred by its own sin,
But nothing fully can illuminate the darkness found within.
No allegory can make palatable that most real inward seeing,
That unwillingly willful exploration of
The deep black forest of one’s being
Where a courageous goodly evil frolics in the fairy ring,
And the Prince of Darkness only reigns
When oneself has crowned him king.
